Learn MoreBaker’s warm, wet climate and intense UV exposure can loosen spline, warp cheaper screen, and fade powder-coated aluminum over time. We build and repair screen systems with materials that hold up here, including 18x14 fiberglass insect screen, 17x20 no-see-um mesh for biting gnats, pet-resistant vinyl-coated polyester, and aluminum screen where rigidity matters. For high-heat west-facing patios, we also install solar screen (typically 80-90% shading) to cut glare and make covered areas more usable.
Local soil movement and seasonal storms can rack frames and shift doors, leading to gaps, rubbing, and latch problems. We troubleshoot the whole opening, not just the torn mesh, checking frame squareness, fasteners, and door hardware before rescreening. Common fixes include replacing worn spline, re-tensioning screen, installing new screen door closers, swapping rollers and tracks, and sealing nuisance gaps with proper stops and bug sweep details.
Our process is straightforward: we measure on-site, review mesh choices, and confirm attachment methods (spline-and-groove aluminum frames, extrusion-compatible profiles, or panelized sections) based on what you already have. If the project involves new framing, roof tie-ins, or changes that may trigger permitting, we discuss it up front and coordinate the next steps so you are not surprised later. Most repair work is scheduled quickly, and we keep the work area clean while protecting decking, pavers, and landscaping.
You receive a written estimate and a clear scope that lists the mesh type, frame condition, hardware to be replaced, and any optional upgrades like kick plates, pet doors, or tighter insect mesh. We use corrosion-resistant fasteners where appropriate, square and brace frames, and tension screen evenly to avoid waves and premature tearing. For businesses in Baker, we can plan work around operating hours and prioritize entry points, dining patios, and high-traffic screen doors to reduce downtime.
